Manipur’s Mirabai does it again with Gold at Common Wealth Games

Imphal: Olympic medalist, Manipur denizen Mirabai Chanu has once again brought laurels for India by winning Gold Medal in the Common Wealth Games on Saturday.

Mirabai equalled her snatch personal best and set the games record with a lift of 88 kg on her second attempt.

She has won India’s third medal at the 2022 Birmingham Games after clinching gold in the women’s 49 kg event.

Mirabai lifted a total of 201kg to seal the gold medal.

Mirabai won India’s first medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after clinching silver in the women’s 49 kg event.

She won silver in the 48kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
