2 drug smugglers nabbed with WY, Brown Sugar

Imphal: Manipur Police on Sunday arrested two drug smugglers, residents of Imphal West district from the state Assembly road near DM University gate (eastern).

The drug traffickers were identified as Md. Firoj Khan, son of late Md. Hesamuddin Khan of Mayang Imphal Bengoon Yangbi and Md. Aziz Khan of Mayang-Imphal.

Firoj was apprehended during a counter insurgency operation conducted by teams of Imphal East Police commando at North AOC area in Imphal West.

The police seized 6,000 WY (World is Yours) tablets, 50 gm Brown Sugar, one scoter (Honda Activa) without registration number, one mobile phone and one wallet from his possessions.

Firoj told the police that the above recovered drugs were brought from one Md. Aziz  Khan of Mayang Imphal and he was coming to North AOC on the advice and instruction of Aziz Khan to hand over the WY tablets to one unknown person waiting for him at North AOC, a police report said.

The duo were arrested and they along were being handed over to Imphal West Police station for taking further necessary legal action him, it added.
