Imphal: Minor irrigation department chief engineer has been suspended on Monday for furnishing fabricated project report that misled the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
Chief minister N. Biren Singh informed the House on Monday that the chief engineer has been suspended for misleading the state Assembly.
He admitted that the answer he had given to the House on Saturday in reply to a question raised by opposition member MLA Th. Lokeswar was found to be incorrect and accordingly misled the House.
