Indian Embassy advises citizens to be cautious of recruitment in Myanmar

Imphal: Some IT companies located in Myanmar are recruiting Indian workers and are facilitating their entry into Myanmar illegally without proper documentation.
Embassy of India in Yangon issued an Advisory on July 5 in this connection and has drawn attention of all concerned.
The Embassy of India, Yangon region of Myanmar in the Advisory said the Mission has observed in recent past that some IT companies engaged in digital scamming/ forge crypto activities located in remote eastern border areas of Myanmar are recruiting Indian workers from different places through their recruiting agents on the pretext of potential employment opportunities in IT sector.
After initial recruitment, Indian workers are being facilitated to enter Myanmar illegally without proper documentation leading to entrapment of Indian workers, it added.
“Indian nationals are hereby requested to exercise due caution and verify the antecedents of the recruiting agents. It is advisable to have all requisite information (job description, company details, location, employment contract etc.) before accepting any employment that has been offered,” the advisory said.
