Manipur reports 2 Covid-19 deaths, 36 new, 62 recovered cases

Imphal: Manipur on Thursday reported two Covid-19 related death cases, 36 new cases and 62 recovered cases pushing down the number of active cases to 403.

The two fatalities belonged to Imphal West. “Both of them had co-morbidities and had 2nd dose of Covid vaccine.” The cumulative number of Covid related death rose to 2133.

The new cases were confirmed at at RIMS (4) and other testing centres (32). They belonged to CAPF (1) Imphal East (5), Imphal West (13), Bishnupur (5), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (1), Ukhrul (4), Senapati (5) and Churachandpur (1). The positivity rate was 6.5 percent.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,39,249. The recovery rate is 98.18 percent, the control room said.
