Meetei Leepun locks ATSUM head office against blockade


Imphal: Countering the ongoing bandh imposed by All Tribe Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM), Meeitei Leepun, a civil society organisation lockdown the head office of ATSUM located at Adimjati complex here on Thursday.

According to a video clip sent to media, Thoupu (executive member) of Meeitei Leepun, Chinglemba Wahengbam said frequent bandh and blockade to National Highway will be considered as ATSUM is targeting the valley people.

To avoid and condemning the frequent bandh and blockade at national highways, Meetei Leepun is taking the step of locking to protest at the head office of ATSUM.

He warned that ATSUM cannot misuse the people living in the valley in order to fulfil their demand which is between them and government.

Chinglemba further cautioned that ATSUM cannot break the lock which Meetei Leepun put at their head office. ATSUM should reach Meetei Leepun if wanted to unlock the office. After an approval it can open the office.

If ATSUM fails to follow the warning of Meetei Leepun then opening of their head office in Manipur valley will not be allowed.
