Schools allowed to resume physical classes for lower classes

Imphal: Manipur education department (s) on Friday issued an order allowing schools to resume the physical classes for the Classes below VIII on Monday.

The physical classes for these student group have been suspended in wake of Covid-19 since July 12.

The matter has been consulted with the state health department. In view of above and keeping in view the importance of education of young children and in order to bring a sense of normalcy in their lives, the governor of Manipur is pleased to allow re-opening of schools in the state for conduct of physical classes for all classes with effect from August 8, the order said.

The reopening of physical classes is subject to the conditions as advised by the health department: wearing of face masks by students and teachers, school authorities to advise parents not to send their wards having Covid-19 symptoms, all heads of schools to take necessary steps to vaccinate their teachers fully, including precaution dose.
