Security measures in Imphal districts

Imphal: As a part of precautionary measures taken up in connection with the upcoming Independence Day celebration, cordon and search operations were conducted at different areas of Imphal East and West on Tuesday.

A team of district commando, Imphal West conducted a search operation at Dharmasala of Thangal Bazaar covering Kasturi crossing, Yaima Store stretch and Alu Gali from 4.30 pm to 5 pm.

During the search operation the team conducted verification of around 125 individuals. Eight individuals who failed to produce any identification documents were taken to City Police station for further verification.

Similar search operation was conducted by a team of Imphal East district police commando at Mahabali area.

The search operation was conducted from 4.45pm to 6 pm and during the activity around 178 persons were verified and let go.
