Covid-19 active cases rise to 243 in Manipur

Imphal: With the confirmation of 38 persons as new Covid-19 positive cases at RIMS (2), JNIMS (1) and other testing centres (35) and recovery of 26 persons the active cases tally has risen to 243 8n Manipur on Wednesday.
Two Covid-19 patients were reported death in 24 hours. They belonged to Imphal East and Bishnupur districts. “Both of them had co-morbidities, one of them had 1st dose of Covid vaccine and Ihe other had 2nd dose of Covid vaccine,” Manipur Covid-19 common control room said.
The fresh cases belonged to Imphal East (7), Imphal West (9), Thouhal (1), Bishnupur (I), Ukhrul (5), Kangpokpi (I). Senapati (2), Tamenglong (1) and Churachandpur (11). The positivity rate was 3.7 percent.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, the control room said.
The recovered persons were discharged after completion of surveillance. They were from Home Isolation (22), RIMS (2) and SHRI (2).
The cumulative number of positive eases is 1,39,446 and the re,covery rate is 98.29 percent, the control room said.
