Police conduct search operation in Imphal ahead of Independence Day

Imphal: As a part of security measures taken in connection with the upcoming Independence Day, Imphal west district police commandos conducted cordon and search operation at various parts of Imphal on Thursday.

A team of district commando conducted house to house search operation at Moirangkhom area including Chingakham Leirak, Chingakham Leikai and Yaiskul Hiruhanba Leirak. The operation was conducted from 6.30 am to 8.15 am.

During the operation around 150 individuals including one bailed out were verified. No one was picked up.

The same team also conducted another search operation at Thangal Bazar including Delhi Motors stretch covering Majorkhul, Kalibari and Gurudwara from 5 pm to 5.40 pm.

The police team verified around 140 individuals and four were picked up as they failed to produce any identification document and handed over to city police for further verification.
