‘Appropriate action will be taken against anyone found in bribery for conversion of aided schools to government schools’

Imphal: “If anyone is found indulging in giving or taking money for conversion of aided schools to government schools, appropriate action as per law will be taken against them,” says education-S department.

It has come to notice of the government that some unscrupulous people with vested interest are spreading rumours that govermment is considering conversion of aided schools to full-fledged govemment schools. Information has also been received that these people are collecting funds from teachers and staff of aided schools. In this regard, it is to state that the department of school education, Manipur is yet to start any process for conversion of aided schools to full-fledged govermment schools, a press release said.

This government is fully committed to transparency, and if any Aided School is to be converted to a govenment school, it will be done under a transparent policy of the govemment, it added.

The department appealed to the public and more particularly the management, teachers and non-teaching staff of aided schools in Manipur not to fall prey to such rumours and unverified claims.
