Former Mr India Momotomba opens ‘Icon Gym’

Imphal: Former Mr India, bodybuilder A. Momotomba has opened a gym ‘Icon Gym’ Keishamthong Hodam Leirak opposite Tiddim Service Station on Thursday.

The gym was launched with the objective to bring a healthy society free from drugs and other illicit elements.

Momotomba, who is the owner of the gym told reporters that the objectives for opening the gym is to encourage the youths for their health.

Momotomba won Gold medal in 90 kg weight category in Mr India Body Building Championship, 2013 held at Chennai.

He said chief minister N. Biren Singh is also taking various steps including ‘War on Drugs’ with the aim to bring a drug free society. Supporting the campaign the gym will be providing training to the youths including awareness to stay away from intoxicants, drugs and illicit elements which could harm not only the physical health but also mental health, he added.

He said shaping a body does not mean only for outer appearance but it will also bring a healthy mind. An unhealthy mind will not be able to make a healthy body. No one can force a person to do work out or exercise but need to take own initiatives, he added.

“Aadmission fee shall be exempted for those who get membership in the gym within the next 10 days,” the muscle champ said.
