Imphal: A combined team of 113Bn BSF and Churachandpur District Police on Thursday busted an arms manufacturing house at Shiamtund Village, New Lamka, Churachandpur district in Manipur.
The factory reportedly supplies arms to underground groups.
The combined security forces, basesd on a reliable information provided by FGT BSF Imphal regarding illegal arms manudacturing at at the village and supplying manufactured illegal arms to some underground groups Groups, conducted a search in the house of one Pauminlun Suantak son of late Hauthinlian Suantak of Chimtung Veng, Dorcas Road, New Lamka Churachandpur. During the search found one local gun manufacturing factory in the house was found, a police report said.
The team recovered, one Local made Single barrel gun, one wooden gun butt, one one local made Single barrel (small), one local made firing pin unit (small), one local made firing pin unit (big), one local made Single barrel (long ) part, one curve barrel part, one local made trigger assembly, one local made transactory (part), three trigger guard, two old type trigger unit (musketary), one local made hammer unit, one trigger unit, one local made cocking pin / bridge block part, one Local made magazine, one solid iron magazine block, one ceiling carry (single), one welding machine (ideal), one cutter machine, one drill, one air blower ( Azad factory), one five speed bench drill, one thick iron, two bench vice and one carpenter vice.
They conducted search around the village. However, the main culprit Pauminlun Suantak could not be found at his home, the report said.
A case under Section 25-(1 AA) Arms Act 1959 has been registered against the accused person for investigation, it added.
