Heroin recovered, 1 arrested

Imphal: As a part of War on  drugs 2.0 campaign, on Tuesday 692  gm of Heroin No. 4 powder was seized by a teams of CDO- Unit Kakching.

The seizure was made based on credible , reliable information and affected by teams of commando Kakching at Nungourok village.

While conducting frisking and checking, the teams  stopped one white Gypsy vehicle without a registration number which was coming from Pallel toward Kakching side. The vehicle didn’t halt at the Laimanai Chingjin commando check post  by speeding the vehicle. Tactically, the team managed to stop the vehicle at Nungourok village and the driver of the vehicle escaped from the spot and was detained after hot pursuit, a police report said.

The occupant of the vehicle was arrested from Nungourok village and was identified as Boipu Haokip, 31, son of Mangneo Haokip of Molnoi village, Tengnoupal district, Manipur.
