Secretariat employees caution to launch cease work strike


Imphal: Manipur Secretariat Services’ Association (MSSA) has served a deadline to launch cease work strike demanding to fulfill their 9-point demand including immediate discontinue the engagement of retired employees by September 5.

In a letter addressed to Manipur chief secretary, signed by general secretary, MSSA, S. Rabi Singh mentioned that the decision was taken during an executive committee meeting held on Tuesday.

The demands included to cancel the order issued on August about the utilisation of secretariat assistant (GAD), M. Romen Singh to Manipur Bhawan, Kolkata.

Other demands were to pay the grade pay at the rate Rs 1,800 in respect to group-D secretariat employees; to pay the grade pay in respect of the post of caretaker at the rate Rs 4,200; to pay the grade pays in respect of ASO/SO and PS at the rate Rs 4,600 and Rs 4,800 respectively; to issue orders on payment of DA at the rate of Central government with effect from January 2023 as agreed upon; to immediately discontinue the engagement / reengagement of retired employees; to expedite the whole promotion process to immediately fill-up all vacant posts; and to immediately release/clear all the retirement benefits and pension and to scrap the National Pension Scheme.
