Girl kidnapped from Imphal rescued in Guwahati, kidnapper arrested

Imphal: Manipur Police has rescued a minor girl, who was kidnapped from Imphal by a Bihar denizen on Friday, from Guwahati Railway station and nabbed the kidnapper on Sunday by a team of Manipur Police.
The state police acted swiftly after the girl’s father, a resident of Mantripukhri, Imphal, made a complaint of his missing daughter on Saturday that his minor daughter was kidnapped by Hanslal Kumar, 29, son of Amira Rai of Dharharwa Chiraia, East Champaran Bihar at about 7:30 am from in front of UCO Bank building located at Mantripukhi when her minor daughter went out to leave for school.
On the evening of the Saturday the police received a reliable input from own source about the presence of the accused in and around Guwahati Railway Station under Guwahati G.R. P.S. (Paltan Bazar).
Accordingly, on Sunday a team of police led by Inspt. Gurumayum Geetanjali Devi, W/SI Nambram Memtu Devi, ASI Thangjam Sanjay Singh and constable Akoijam Kishorchand Singh left for Guwahati and arrested the accused person the same day at 1:26 pm from Guwahati Railway Station and rescued the minor victim girl, a police report said.
The kidnapper was produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kamrup (M) Assam and was remanded to Transit remand for a period of four days with effect from Sunday till Wednesday.
