New Delhi: Textiles, commerce and Industry minister Nemcha Kipgen drew attention for strengthening of border trade at Moreh (Indo-Myanmar border town in Manipur) and urged to expedite setting up of Border Haats at Behiang and New Somtal, during Board of Trade Meeting at the Convention Hall, The Ashok, New Delhi organised by the ministry of commerce and industry.
Nemcha stated that Manipur being on the trade route to South-East Asian countries, deserves more focus.
She also drew the attention for development of infrastructure and to place more human resources. E-visa, transport protocol and international flights, which would help in trade as well as people to people connect.
Union minister of commerce and industry Piyush Goyal, ministers of state for commerce and industry chaired the meeting along with Union ministers of state Som Prakash and Anupriya Patel amongst others.
Additional chief secretary, planning, Vunlummang, commissioner, textiles, commerce industry, Pradeep Kumar Jha accompanied Nemcha in the meeting.
Such Bbard meeting headed by Union minister for commerce and industry provides an opportunity to have regular discussions and consultation with trade and industry and advise the government on policy measures related to Foreign Trade Policy in order to achieve the objective of boosting India’s trade coupled with a vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
