Psychotropic drugs seized, 1 arrested

Imphal: Imphal East district police of Manipur on Monday seized huge number of psychotropic drugs from a residence at Khabeisoi Saban Leikai, Imphal East and arrested a person.

The arrested person was identified as on Meinam Abul Kalam, 35, son of Meinam Abdul Salam of Kwakta Pangal Lamkhai presently staying at Khabeisoi Saban Leikai, Imphal East.

They were apprehended acting on an information that some illegal drugs had been transported in the house of Abdul. The commando team along with a team of Heingang police station rushed to the said area.

In presence of executive magistrate and independent civil witnesses, the body of Abdul was searched including his belongings and house.

During the search operation 38,016 Span PRX tablets, 15,840 Semplx tablets, 3000 Netaks tablet and 79 Codeine cough syrup bottles were detected and seized.

Abdul was arrested and the seized psychotropic drugs were handed over to Heingang police station for further necessary legal action.
