Two RPF/PLA cadres nabbed


Imphal: A team of Imphal East district commando of Manipur Police on Monday arrested two active cadres of proscribed underground outfit RPF/PLA from Takhel village, Imphal East on Monday.

The arrested person has been identified as one Leishangthem Khomei Singh, 53, son of late L. Bidhu of Haraorok Mayai Leikai, Imphal East and Khangembam Sankoy alias Athoi alias Pambei, 28, son of Kh. Manglemba Singh of Kumbi Setapur Maning Leikai, Bishnupur district.

During random frisking and checking of suspected passers-by at Takhel village, Imphal East near waiting shed at around 4.35 pm on Monday, they were detained for checking. One 9mm pistol and two mobile phones were seized from their possession, a police report said.

They revealed the police that they are active cadre of RPF/PLA and they joined the outfit through one captain Hemba of the same outfit and presently they are working under his command. They also revealed that on the advice of Hemba, they came at Takhel to organise a place for shelter of their outfit, it added.

The arrested persons along with the seizures have been handed over to Lamlai Police station for further necessary legal action, it said.
