3-day Training cum Input Distribution programme launched

Imphal: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Churachandpur launched three days Training cum Input Distribution programme under aspirational village programme on “Nursery management of high value vegetable crops” in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre at KVK Training hall, Pearsonmun on Wednesday.
Head in-charge ICAR-KVK, Churachandpur, L. Somendro Singh said the programme was organised under the patronized of joint director, ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre I. Meghachandra Singh with a view to uplift the socio- economic development of aspirational village in Churachandpur.
The programme was graced by head in-charge, KVK-Churachandpur L Somendro Singh and welcomed the gathering and highlighted the importance of the training programme on “Nursery management of high value vegetable crops”, he said.
He mentioned that participated farmers should renovate their knowledge which gained in the training programme.
During the technical session, scientist, Division of Horticulture, ICAR-RC for NEH Region, Manipur Centre Ch. Premabati Devi delivered lecture on topic ”Scientific cultivation of Garden Pea var. Arkel”.
SMS (Horticulture), KVK-Churachandpur, Ph. Chandramani Singh, conducted Hands on training on “Vegetable seed sowing methods and its management of High value vegetable crops”. While SMS (Plant Protection), ICAR-KVK Churachandpur, N. Johnson Singh, stretch on the integrated approach on pests and diseases management of nursery management.
The programme ended with the distribution of 100 kg of Pea var. Arkel, and other winter vegetable seeds, Micro nutrients, hand sprayer, water cane, spade, khurpi were also distributed to the farmers.
The training programme was participated by 27 farmers from Bongbal village, Kangreng village and Pherzawl district.
