Teachers show gratitude to CM Biren, EM Basanta

Imphal: Teachers under the umbrella of All Integrated Teachers’ Association Manipur (AITAM) have expressed their ‘sincere’ gratitude to chief minister N. Biren Singh and education minister Th. Basanta Kumar Singh for acknowledging the grievances of the integrated teachers and fulfilling the demands of the teachers to reconsider and revoke the office letter for change of Salary Head of Account for the said teachers.

The association in a statement released on Friday conveys their heartfelt gratitude to commissioner of education (S) H. Gyanprakash Singh, director of education (S) L. Nandakumar Singh, additional secretary (Finance) Neilenthang Telien, and all the officials of education (S) and rinance department, Manipur for considering demands of the teachers and thereby fulfilling it.

It thanked all the integrated teachers of Manipur for their spontaneous response and support extended to the Association for our common cause.

The association regretted the inconveniences caused to the student community and the parents due the democratic agitations taken up by the teachers demanding their legitimate rights, it said.

The association has called off the suspended agitation with immediate effect.
