37 participate in Clover’s training programme on Food Processing

Imphal: The 3-day training Pogramme on “Food Processing and Value Addition of Different Horticultural Crops’’ for Farmers Producer Company (FPC)- Board of Directors, chief executive officers and farmers concluded at ICAR-KVK Churachandpur on Friday.

The training programme, which started from September 28, was organised by Clover Organic Private Limited in collaboration with ICAR- KVK Churachandpur and sponsorship of Manipur Organic Mission Agency under the Central Scheme Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region’.

During the training program, KVK scientist Dr S. Roma Devi led team gave practical trainings on the preparation of ready to serve- squash, pickle, jam, candy, cheese, paste from horticultural crops like pineapple, passion fruit, amla, King Chilli, guava and ginger.

The 37 participants from six FPCs (Khuga Valley Organic FPC, Manmasi Organic FPC, Zawlbuk Organic FPC, Green Hills Organic FPC, Gilgal Organic FPC and Than Than FPC) have expressed their gratitude to the organisers for the well-intended training program and satisfaction for getting insightful learning experience. They expressed their keen interest to prepare and produce their own processed product to generate income for their FPCs.

In the day’s concluding session, project manager Pritam Singh of Clover Organic Pvt. Ltd addressed the prospects of organic farming and processed food products. He thanked everyone for their successful completion of the training programme.
