1 kg Heroin recovered in Manipur

Imphal: In continuation of Manipur government’s War on Drugs campaign the state police of Kakching district on Wednesday seized 1 kg of Heroin No.4 powder from two persons.

The seizure was made from one silver Ford Ecosport vehicle bearing registration  number AS01BP6499.

The said vehicle was stopped after it tried to evade the checking being conducted by teams of commanndo unit, Kakching Police.

The driver and the occupant of the vehicle were detained for verification. The driver was identified as Boigin Guite,18, son of Shokhotinthang Guite of Lonpi village, Chakpikarong, Chandel- district, at present residing at K. Nivangphai, Churchandpur and the occupant as T. Lulun Simte, 28, son of. T. Athang Simte of Loktak project, Churchandpur, at present residing at K. Nivangphai.

The two persons along with the vehicle were searched after observing legal formalities. From the vehicle, 75  soap cases containing suspected Heroin No.4 powder were detected, a police report said.

Both the driver of vehicle and its occupants were arrested by observing all formalities, it added.
