It’s Heroin and WY seizure again in Manipur

Imphal: Narcotics and Affairs on Border (NAB) seized Heroin No.4 and Methamphetamine tablets marked as WY (World is Yours) from a drug trafficker on the mission for War on Drugs campaign of N.Biren Singh led Manipur government.

This seizure was made by an NAB team on Thursday afternoon from one person identified as Yumnam Sanahal Singh, 57, son of Y. Chaoba Singh of Irom Meijrao Mamang Leikai, Imphal West.

Sanahal was carrying the contraband drugs in his white Maruti A-Star car bearing registration number NL07C/1679 when the NAB team detained him at the northern side of Kanglatombi Bridge along Imphal-Dimapur road.

The team detected 25 soap caps containing suspected Heroin No.4 and 18 bundles of suspected WY tablets (each bundle containing about 2000 tablets, total being 36 tablets), kept concealed in the four doors of the car. On weighing the 25 soap caps and 18 bundles, it was found to weigh 338 grams and 3.963 kgs respectively. The suspected Herion No.4 , WY tablets, Astar car, one OPPO mobile phone with two SIM cards, one driving license, one debit card, one pan card were seized at 4.30 pm. The individual was arrested at 4.35 pm, a report said.

To search the car, a requisition was made to DM/Imphal West for deputing one executive magistrate and SDC/BO/EM was detailed.

From his disclosure, another individual who is an associate, identified as Thiumeia Paul, 51, son of Th. Pino of Kumji II, Lukhambi, Tamenglong Manipur was also arrested along one VIVO mobile handset, voter ID, Pan Card, two ATM cards of MRB and SBI, it said.

A case has been registered for investigation at NAB police station.
