Woman drug trader nabbed in Manipur

Imphal: Teams of Commando Imphal East Unit along with Woman Police personnel arrested one woman drug peddler and seized 10 soap cases containing Heroine No. 4 powder, weighing 142 gm (approximately) from her possession.

The arrested woman was Zarina Begum, 30, wife of Md. Mukhtar Nasim of Hafiz Hatta Ittakhola, Imphal-East district, Manipur.

She was nabbed on Wednesday morning from Porompat Pangal Leirak near Peace Hospital.

The arrestee along with the seized drugs has been handed over to Porompat Police station for further legal procedures.

The arrestee stated that she has been in the trade of smuggling Heroin No. 4 powder for the last 2/3 months, in which she generally bought the drugs from one woman, Pepe, from Tengoupal and sells to one Bilkis Begum of Hiyangthang. The arrestee further stated that she is about to deliver the above recovered drugs to the said Bilkish, a police report said.
