Biren inaugurates, lays foundation for projects at Senapati

Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh inaugurated and laid foundation stones of various development projects at Senapati headquarter on Friday, and said, “There are plans to develop Senapati comparable to Kohima.”

The projects include inauguration of Mini Outdoor Stadium at Senapati Public Ground with a project cost of Rs 725.87 lakh under NEC, Sub-Treasury Office, Tadubi, Senapati, Open Gym at Senapati Public ground, UCO Bank, Phaibung Khullen Branch, Model Anganwadi Centre Buildings at Paomata Centre, Senapati and at Rikhumai Taphou, Senapati and laying of foundation stone for construction of Synthetic Football Turf at Senapati Public Ground, District Youth Skilling, Entrepreneurship and Employment Centre, Senapati and Indigenous Sports Complex at Maram Khunou.

The lying of the Synthetic Football Turf at Senapati Public Ground and Indigenous Sports Complex at Maram Khunou are very close to his heart and committed before the public that the two projects will be delivered to the people before the Election Code of Conduct for the 2024 Parliamentary Election.

Highlighting that the government is able to return to power because the government was able to deliver on their promises in its previous term, the chief minister said the public will not trust the government if it is unable to deliver.

Biren inspected the district Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders Day underway at the District Headquarter on his way to the venue also expressed happiness on learning that around 37,000 cards for Ayushman Bharat and Chief Minister’s Hakshel Gi Tengbang have been distributed in the district.

He highlighted several other projects being taken up in the district including construction of PHSC buildings at Chakumai, Chakha, Rajaimei, Sadim Lakhamai High School building, 50-bedded Girls’ Hostel at Sardar Patel H/S, Mao gate, Primary School at Liyai H/S, Working Women Hostel at Senapati DHQ, 50-bedded Girls’ Hostel at Purul Hr. Secondary School, 50-bedded Girls’ Hostel at Liyai Khullen H/S, installation of Water Supply Line with Reservior Tank at District Hospital, Senapati, installation of Water Supply Like with Reservoir tank at JNV, Mao, Staff Quarter at PHC Laii, PHC Building at Pudunamei, PHSC building at Maopundung, Model Residential School at Senapati District HQ, 100 bedded hostel at Residential School, Bendramai, PHC Building at Oinam Hill, etc.

The chief minister also invited the people of the district to attend the Manipur Sangai Festival.

Works minister Govindas Konthoujam, tribal affairs and hills minister  Letpao Haokip , transport minister Kashim Vashum, MLA Losii Dikho and MLA J Kumo Sha Hills Area Committee Manipur chairman Dinganglung Gangmei, MLA Karam Shyam, MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh were present at the function.

The formal function was attended by DLOs, village authority leaders, CSO representatives, tribe leaders, students and general public.

On their arrival, the chief minister and the dignitaries was accorded a warm welcome by the District Administration led by DC Mahesh Chowdhury and the general public.

Villagers expressed their gratitude to the chief minister for opening of the UCO Bank branch at Phaibung Khullen, and offered a memento to the chief minister through the Village Authority.
