Plea to donate Plastic Bottle Bank

Imphal: The District Administration, Bishnupur appeals to all elected representatives and socially minded citizens, DLOs, police personnel, Forest officials, paramilitary force battalions, central government offices/enterprise and teachers to donate one Plastic Bottle Bank each,

The appeal was made in connection with the ban of Single Use Plastics in the districts and in view of the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival.

The bottle bank shall be placed at strategic and suitable locations, tourist spots, bazar areas, etc for collection of plastic bottles, said a press statement released by Lourembam Bikram, deputy commissioner, Bishnupur.

Such adoption of cleanliness practices will enhance the image of the district and help in maintenance of hygiene of the people and tourist as well. The names of the donors shall be mentioned on the Plastic Bottle Bank as courtesy, it said.
