Preparation on Sangai Festival Churachandpur

Imphal: The District Organising Committee,  Sangai Festival Churachandpur along with MLA of Singhat AC Chinlunthang on Sunday visited border village Behiang to oversee preparations for the upcoming Sangai Festival 2022 in Churachandpur.

The team included officials from PWD, PHED,  MSPDCL, police, representatives from Tourism dept and SDO Singngat.

Apart from inspecting the proposed site with layout plans for physical construction of stage, stalls and other facilities, the inspecting team discussed about tourist attraction activities such as opening of eateries at the border area.

The ongoing amphitheatre construction and entertainment space at proposed Manipur Southern Cultural Centre was also inspected on this day.

Various CSOs leaders including United Zou Organization, Behiang Block, youth leaders, area chiefs and village elders also joined the inspection team.

The curtain raiser event for this year Sangai Festival, Churachandpur will be held at Behiang village on November 22 which will be followed by events at Khuga from November 24-26.

ADC of Churachandpur S. Thienlaljoy Gangte, who is also the convenor of the district organising Committee instructed the officials and CSO leaders to extend maximum cooperation so that nothing is left to chances for the success of the festival, DIO report said.
