WhatsApp down for couple of hours

Imphal: Instant messaging app WhatsApp went down for a couple of hours today.

As per NDTV reports, messaging service WhatsApp went down for about two hours, its longest ever. It stopped working just after noon in India and other countries, it said.

Downdetector, a website that tracks online outages across the globe, had shown a sharp spike in the number of users reporting WhatsApp’s outage, according to a Business Today report.

In a reply to Business Today’s queries, a Meta company spokesperson said, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.”

Restoration began by 2.15 pm, though users reported that it was not stable upon return. The glitches went away gradually, NDTV reported.
