Minister Nemcha inspects Manitex Expo venue

Imphal: Manipur Textiles, Commerce and Industry minister Nemcha Kipgen on Thursday inspected the venue and stalls being constructed for the upcoming 11-day ‘Manipur International Textile Expo’ (MANITEX), 2022 edition scheduled to begin on November 15 at Urban Haat, Nilakuthi, Imphal East.

This year’s edition of MANITEX will have 124 stalls altogether including 10 international stalls and 10 stalls from other states of the country.

MANITEX’s main objective is to showcase all the products of handlooms, handicrafts, dyeing and printing, power loom, garment, embroidery and costume in larger scale with participation of different states and countries in the MANITEX. The expo aims to groom export potential entrepreneurs of textile material and to develope a road map for inclusive development of the textile industry in Manipur.

There will be brand promotion of local products with MANITEX Fashion Week and laying of foundation, inauguration and distribution during MANITEX.

The minister was accompanied by chairman, Manipur Industrial Development Corporation (MANIDCO) Kongkham Robindro Singh during the inspection.

While interacting with the officers and officials of the Directorate of Handloom and Handicrafts, Nemcha sought their cooperation and sheer dedication for success of this year’s edition of MANITEX.
