Assam Rifles seizes drugs worth Rs 70 lakh in Manipur

Imphal: Modi Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) seized narcotics from Molnoi village, Chandel district on Friday.
Based on specific input regarding a cache of contraband items, a search party was sent in general area Molnoi Village. On thorough search of the jungle, troops of Assam Rifles recovered 25 soap cases containing Brown Sugar weighing 350 gm, the Assam Rifles said on Saturday.
The seized narcotics assessed to be worth approximately Rs 70 lakh in the international market, were handed over to Tengnoupal Police station for further investigation, it added.
