USA’s Liliac sets to rock Imphal

Imphal: USA based hard rock band ‘Liliac’ is all set to rock Imphal City in their signature vampire costumes on the second day (closing day) of the Unity Music Festival 2022 which was kicked off on Saturday evening at YAC Ground in Imphal West of Manipur.

Liliac the ‘First Family of Rock’, is a 5-piece siblings hard rock band from Los Angeles based in Atlanta also known as ‘Vampire Bats’. They landed Imphal on Friday.

They will be playing tracks from two of its original albums and a few covers of heavy metal bands such as Metallica and Black Satans. The oldest sibling is 23 years while the youngest is 15 years.

During an interaction with reporters at Hotel Imphal on Saturday, the band members expressed their excitement to perform here stating ‘it is their first trip in India and will be their first performance overseas’.

All the band members attended the press conference in Manipur traditional attires.

Liliac’s manager and producer Papa Liliac, (father of the five siblings) while quoting John Lennon’s Give Peace a Chance, said, “Music is a universal language which brings people together so the band considered music as a medium to spread love and unity.”

Vocalist of the band, Melody, the third sibling, said the band is currently working on their third album.

“Thank you so much for having us here, it means a lot. Manipur has a beautiful culture. Please come and enjoy the concert. It will be amazing,” she said while all the band members cheered, “Rock on! Rock hard!”

Another showstopper of the music festival, a classic rock band based on Nagaland ‘About Us’ who will be performing 5-6 tracks from its original album on Saturday night also interacted with the media just after their arrival at Imphal.

The band members also expressed their eagerness to perform in Imphal which is a music lovers state. They said the festival will be a great initiative to revive the classic rock which is based on pure hand talent and passion and not on techno like the modern rock.

The festival will also witness performances by home bands such as Mac $ de Band from Ukhrul; Variation 4 from Churachandpur; The Wishess from Bishnupur; Alamle Heraang from Senapati and All the Greats from Imphal.

The two days music festival is being organised by the M/s NOS and sons Events, Entertainments, Enterprises under the theme ‘Unity Through Music’ with the motive to revive classic rock.
