Pallel Gram Panchayat launched as Model village

Imphal: Lok Sabha MP, Dr. Lorho S. Pfoze launched on Tuesday launched Pallel Gram Panchayat as Adarsh Gram ( model village) of Kakching district under Sanshad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).

The lauching programme was organized by District Administration, Kakching at Pallel Maning Community Hall, Pallel Gram Panchayat, Kakching district.

A foundation stone of Pallel Model Gram Panchayat under SAGY was also laid by Lorho and MLA M. Rameshwar Singh.

Lorho said for successful implementation of Model village under Sanshad Adarsh Gram Yojana, active participation of people’s of the area is a must. They must contribute their good gesture in respect of hospitality, ways of approach, sanitation etc. Those residing within the model villages should be an example to others. He also announced to contribute Rs 10 lakh as the first phase for development of the model village.

He informed the gathering that for opening of JNV and KV in Kakching district, he had written a letter to the concerned ministry and a proposal to established Kakching District Hospital was also submitted to the concerned ministry, he added. Citing the reason for adopting Pallel Gram Panchayat as Model village, he said, it is a place where many communities like Meitei, Meitei-Pangal and Tribal were inhabited together with peaceful co-existence.

Pallel Gram Panchayat Model village includes three villages, Sora, Pallel and Bijoypur. As part of today programme, Thang ta performance was show cast by Kha Manipur Thangta Academy, Pallel.

Deputy commissioner, Kakching district Somorjit Salam in his welcome address stated that its very fortunate that the MP has selected Pallel Gram Panchayat as Model village. He urges the people of the area actively participate in maintaining the status of being a model village in all sphere.

He said a village development plan will also be prepapred considering the criteria for model village.

Kh. Ibochouba Singh, state nodal officer (SAGY), Manipur said the Yojana was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 11, 2014. The SAGY is a rural development programme broadly focusing upon the development in the villages in eight sectors which includes personal development, social development, human development, economic development, environmental development, social security, basic amenities and good governance.
