Declared fake CM secretariat spokesperson appears back claiming as Manipur president of ACFI


Imphal: A person who was apprehended as fake spokesperson of Manipur chief minister’s secretariat on 2019, appeared claiming as Manipur president of Anti Corruption Foundation of India (ACFI).

The person was Md Mansoor Alam of Kairang Mayai Leikai, Imphal East. He was arrested on Wednesday.

According to police, Mansoor was arrested for being self-styled state president of the Anti Corruption Foundation of India (ACFI) allegedly registered under ITA, NITI AAyog and MSME, Government of India, certified by National Vigilance Commission.

A case has been registered at Heingang police station for further necessary steps.

Mansoor was apprehended earlier on June 16, 2019 by Imphal East district police team for claiming himself as spokesperson of chief minister’s secretariat. In this connection a statement was issued on June 16, 2019 from personal secretary to the chief minister, S.  Rajen Singh. It stated, “Fake news is being circulated in social media such as Facebook by one Mansoor Alam, claiming himself to be the official spokesperson of the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Manipur,”. Neither the chief minister not his office has any official spokesperson called Mansoor Alam and that he is not connected with any functioning of N. Biren Singh, it added.

The district police had released him and handed over to Pradhan of Kairang Khomidok Gram Panchayat without filing any police case against him.
