Heroin worth over Rs 2 crore seized from two women

Imphal: A team of police commando, Imphal East seized 88 soap cases of heroin powder worth a value of around Rs 2.35 crore in international market from the possession of two women from Mayangkhang village on Friday afternoon.

The location falls under the jurisdiction of Senapati police station.

The two women were identified as one Sk Philachan alias Afi, 44, wife of Sk Hitler of Mayangkhang village, Senapati district and Nanao ZS alias Nanaola, 37, daughter of Ningtam ZS of New-Canal village, Yaingangpokpi, Imphal-East.

On receiving of a reliable information about concealment of some illegal drugs (heroin powder) at a residence located at Mayangkhang village, Senapati district, the district commando team along with women police personnel rushed to the village after providing prior information to control room, Senapati district police. During the police action Philachan and Nanao were detained at Mayangkhang village and seized 88 soap cases of Heroin powder from their possession. Two mobile phones, one Aadhaar card were also seized.

Both of them were arrested on the spot. They along with the seizures have been handed over to Senapati police station, police said.
