‘Manipur produces best handloom and handicraft products’

Imphal: Water Resource and Relief and Disaster Management minister Awangbow Newmai graced the Tamenglong and Noney Day at the ongoing Manipur International Textile Expo as chief guest at Urban Haat, Nilakuthi, Imphal East, Manipur on Sunday.

Manipur is a very beautiful state, in terms of culture and people also. “We can proudly say that we produce the best in handicrafts and handlooms products among the Indian state” Awangbow said.

Many talented youths of the state are found anywhere in the world, the minister added.

Under the initiative of chief minister N.Biren Singh Manipur has seen lots of changes. “India is going forward and much more our state compared to 6 years before our state is much ahead before any state” he said.

Awangbow congratulated the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles and all the participants.

HAC chairman, MLA Dipu Gangmei, Manipur Handloom and Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. chairman, Kh.Ibomcha, DC Noney Joseph Pauline, also graced the events as president and guest of honour respectively.
