31 UG cadres lay down arms in Manipur

Imphal: A total of 31 cadres of five Manipur based underground (UG) groups laid down their arms in a homecoming ceremony held at 1MR Banquet hall, here on Wednesday..
“I extend a hearty welcome to the 31 cadres of different UG groups for laying down their arms during a homecoming ceremony at 1 MR Banquet Hall, Imphal today. It is my firm belief that many more will return to the mainstream and join the work to build a progressive Manipur and leave a better future for the generations to come,” chief minister N. Biren Singh writes on his Facebook wall.
The 31 cadres of the different valley-based UG groups include 17 KCP (PWG), 4 UNLF, 6 PREPAK, 3 KYKL, and 1 PREPAK (VC).
As many as 15 arms including one NM 6 Rifle, one M4 carbine, 1 Lathode gun, one Single barrel rifle, seven .32 pistols, three .22 pistols and one 12 mm bore pistol along with five cartridges, three Lathod shell, one lED and three live rounds were surrendered.
