MSFDS selects three delegates to attend IFFI

Imphal: Manipur Film Development Society (MSFDS) has announced names of three applicants selected for partial sponsorship by MSFDS, for attending the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), Goa, the country’s biggest film event that will be held during November 21 to 28.
The selected persons were film critic Ashangbam Netrajit, film journalist (Poknapham) Boney Thongamcha and former Film Forum Manipur chairman and film actor S. Mangoljao Singh.
They will be provided sponsorship as Manipur delegates for IFFI, Goa.
As publicly notified, interview for selecting interested delegates for IFFI Goa was held at the office of MSFDS. Out of seven applications received, two did not turn up. This time, weightage for selection were given to first-timers with knowledge of film appreciation, potential for extensive media reports and larger interest for the film community, a press release by the film development society said.
Besides sponsorship of the three delegates, MSFDS is sponsoring to and fro air travels of nine filmmakers whose films are in the special Golden Jubilee Manipuri Cinema package, consisting of 10 films, five feature films and five non-feature films, including the first Manipuri feature film director, Deb Kumar Bose and his assistant.
The ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B) had provided complimentary space to Manipur for opening its pavilion at the high-profile Film Bazar organized by National Film Development Corporation, NFDC, ministry of I&B, as an integral part of IFFI 2022 where most film friendly states of the country are setting up pavilions to attract national and international film production companies to come and film in their respective srates.
MSFDS will officiate the state pavilion at the posh Marriott hotel at Goa to be actively assisted by the State’s IPR department, Cine Artistes and Technician Association and Film Forum Manipur. For smooth logistic support and manning of the state’s pavilion, MSFDS is also sponsoring officials for it, the press statement said.
