National Constitution Day observed

Imphal: As observed in various parts of the nation, the Constitution Day was also observed at Kangpokpi district of Manipur.

Since 2015, Constitution Day is celebrated on November 26 to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly in 1949.

In Kangpokpi district, the day was observed across various government/autonomous offices and educational institutions, including police stations by reading the Preamble of the Constitution to reaffirm the commitment to uphold it’s ideology.

Every year, the Constitution Day or Samvidhan Divas is celebrated to mark the significance of the constitutional values among citizens of India, also to bring awareness of the importance of the Indian Constitution and it’s architect Dr BR Ambedkar.

The Indian Constitution was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949 and became effective on January 26, 1950.
