2 IRB Manipur jawans killed, 2 injured in firing by colleague in Gujarat

Imphal: Two Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Manipur jawans were killed and two others were injured after their colleague opened fire in a village near Porbandar in Gujarat on Saturday evening.
The jawans were sent by the Election Commission ahead of Gujarat Assembly elections, which first phase voting was scheduled to be held on December 1.
They were staying inside a cyclone centre in Tukda Gosa village, about 25 km from Porbandar.
According to Gujarat Police the expired jawans were Th. Thoiba Singh and Kh.Jitendra Singh, both belonged to 3rd Indian Reserve Battalion Manipur.
The injured jawans were Chorajit, rifleman constable, 3d Indian Reserve Battalion Manipur SAP-I445 and Rohikanta, constable 4th Indian Reserve Battalion.
The injured were rushed to Bhavsinghji Hospital and treatment was going on, according to Porbandar Police Control room.
The accused is the rifleman constable at 3rd Indian Reserve Battalion, Manipur SAP, S.Inaocha Singh. He opened fire on other police staff with his AK-47 rifle in which two jawans were killed, sources said.
Further investigation is underway, Gujarat Police said.
