Imphal: The Manipur Sangai Festival, Churachandpur chapter came to an end on high note on Sunday with colourful cultural programme, climaxed electrifying fashion show and lively musical presentations.
Salulap Lam by Thadou Cultural Troupe, tribal cultural fusion by We Dance Academy, musical presentation by E-Rose (an all-girl band) and Pengpelep set the vibe in the evening and the programme gradually progressed to the much anticipated fashion show by designer Robert Naorem.
Amidst the cheers, models from the state and outside sashayed the ramp until the show reached a feverish pitch with show stopper Lara Dutta, Miss Universe 2000, whose appearance drove the jam-packed crowd frenzy.
Mizoram based “Sound from the Hills” band took the stage to sustain the ambiance and led the programme to an end on a high note. Other performers of the evening included Anggu Singsit and Rayburn College choir.
MAHUD minister Yumnam Khemchand, industries minister Nemcha Kipgen, MLA LM Khaute, MLA Vungzagin Valte, MLA and adviser to CM, Letzamang Haokip, MLA Chinlunthang, Deputy commissioner Sharath Chandra Arroju and other high ranking government officials attended the programme amongst others.
The Churachandpur chapter of the Sangai tourism festival began on Friday.
