State Level Kala Utsav prizes distributed

Imphal: Samagra Shiksha (Secondery) Manipur on Friday organised Prizes Distribution function of the winners of the State Level Kala Utsav, 2022-23 Competition at Jawaharlal Nehru Dance Academy, Khuyathong, Imphal.

The students competed in the field of 10(ten) categories, divided into boys and girls. The ten categories were Visual Arts three dimensional, Visual Arts two dimentional, Instrumental music precursive, Instrumental Music Melody, Vocal Music Traditional  Folk, Classical dance, Dramma Solo Acting, Vocal Music Traditional Folk,  Indigenous toy and games and Vocal Music Classical.

Altogether, there were 120 applicants for the competition and 82 participants participated in the competition.  Prizes and certificates were handed over to the winners in each category from first to third position, both boys and girls by commissioner, education(S) H. Gyan Prakash. Certificates and cash aawars were also given to the winners.

The winners who hold first position would represents the state at the National-level Kala Utsav Schedule in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, next year.

State project director, Education(S) Samagra Shiksha, Manipur, L.Nandakumar Singh, additional director (Valley), assistant state project director, Education(S), Samagra Shiksha (Secondary), Manipur, Bisheshwar Khumukcham, students, ZEO staff and  parents attended the function.

Kala Utsav is an initiative of the ministry of Education (MoE) under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan, to promote arts in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of schools students at the secondary stage in the country.
