Aid distributed to 50 differently abled persons at Ukhrul

Imphal: Altogether 50 differently abled persons were distributed Aid and Appliances like wheelchair, walking stick, hearing aid, cluster elbow and blankets during the observation of International Day for differently abled persons at DRDA Hall, Ukhrul on Saturday.
The observation was organised by the District Administration in collaborations with District Social Welfare (DSWO), District Disability Rehabilitation Centre and Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development Rehabilitation Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Imphal.
Deputy commissioner of Ukhrul krishna Kumar graced the function as the chief guest in the presence of DSWO Kanghujam Nongpoknganba Salaicha and nodal officer DDRC Yuman Dhanbir Singh who were functional president and the guest of honour respectively.
Kumar spoke at the gathering by encouraging differently abled persons in the district to avail different schemes the centre and state has provided to them. The district administration is also striving to reach out through different mechanism so as to enable them bring equilibrium in the society.
He also encouraged to get registered in the electoral roll under PWD and avail special facilities provided.
