Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has extended his ‘heartfelt’ greetings to all rank and file of the Armed Forces as well as the ex-servicemen and their families on the occasion of the Armed Forces Flag Day 2022.
“The Armed Forces Flag Day is observed to acknowledge the indomitable courage and sacrifices made by our brave soldiers in defence of our country. It is dedicated towards collection of funds, from the people of India for the welfare of serving Indian Armed Forces personnel and ex-servicemen and also to rehabilitate battle casualties. The Day gains more significance as it is the responsibility of the civilian population to take care of the families and dependents of the armed forces personnel,” Biren said.
“On this occasion, I appeal to the people of the state to contribute generously towards the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund in support of the families of our brave soldiers who had sacrificed their lives in defending the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Let us also assume our collective responsibility to ensure rehabilitation and welfare of the dependents of our brave martyrs and disabled personnel,” he added.
