Korean wine, Myanmar beer smuggling foiled in Manipur

Imphal: Modi Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) foiled smuggling of illicit liquor in Chandel district of Manipur on Thursday.
Based on specific input regarding movement of contraband items in general area Wamku, an operation was launched wherein a vehicle was intercepted by the vehicle check post, the Assam Rifles said on Friday.
On thorough searching of vehicle, 63 cases of Myanmar Beer and 57 cases of Korean wine was recovered, it added.
The seized liquor was assessed to be worth Rs 10.58 lakh. Recovered items along with vehicle drivers were handed over to Tengnoupal Police station for further action.
Lecture on Nasha Mukht Bharat
The Modi Battalion organised motivational lecture on Nasha Mukht Bharat at village Larong Khullen, Chandel District on Friday.
The event was attended by 60 persons including youth and students. After the lecture, interaction with local youth and students was also organised.
