Maharaja Sanajaoba urges India Government to resolve Indo-Myanmar Border Issue, complete fencing

Imphal: Rajya Sabha MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba has raised two issues in the Parliament on Thursday demanding to resolve the Indo-Myanmar Border Issue and to complete the fencing between Manipur and Myanmar Border.

The demands were made ‘to stop the smuggling of illegal drugs and infiltrations of illegal immigrants in the state from Myanmar’.

All the efforts of Manipur Government to solve the menace of illegal drugs smuggling and infiltrations of illegal migrants are in vain due to the porous border, he said.

He urged the India Government to resolve the border issue and complete the fencing so as to enable to carry out successfully the state government’s mission on War on Drugs and  to stop the infiltrations of illegal migrants through the porous border.

The MP said the issues raised in the Parliament were serious problems being faced by the state government.
