School headmaster suspended for irregular serving of Mid-Day meals


Imphal: Headmaster in-charge, primary teacher of Sora High School in Kakching district has been suspended on the charge of not regularly serving the students with Mid-Day meals under PM-POSHAN scheme.

The order of suspension was issued on Thursday by the director of Education (S) L. Nandakumar Singh.

It has been reported that proper Mid-day meals under the PM-POSHAN scheme is not given to the students of Sora High School. Kakching district. A team of officials of the department visited the school on Tuesday for inspection and submitted the findings that the head master of the school could not produce the relevant documents relating to the distribution of mid-day meals and the students responded that they were not served with meals regularly but only occasionally, the order said.

A disciplinary proceeding against Azad Khan, EIN 064213, primary teacher, head master in-charge of Sora High School, is being contemplated relating to mismanagement of PM-POSHAN scheme, it added.

In exercise of power conferred by sub-rule (1) of Rule 10 of Central Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules 1965, the director placed Azad Khan under suspension with immediate effect.

During the period of suspension the headquarters of Azad Khan shall be his concerned Zone, and he shall not leave the headquarters without obtaining prior permission.
