Imphal: Those who are demanding for a separate Kukiland or greater Nagaland should make their demand to Myanmar, Mizoram or to Nagaland.
This was stated by United Committee Manipur (UCM) president inviting community leaders to discuss the matter seriously on a platform.
Joychandra was addressing reporters on Saturday at its head office here.
He said Manipur has its own history for over 5,000 years and had been living together along with various communities including Meeitei/Meitei, Tangkhul, Khongsai, Aimol, Cothe, Mao, Maram, Kabui and others. However, some communities, in their own vested interest started demanding for separate lands which could affect territorial boundary and integrity of Manipur, he added.
UCM cautioned to those ‘black sheep’ who are demanding various demands including separate state or autonomy to the Manipur government and central government on a community base agenda. They should stop trying to create enmity among the ethnic communities of Manipur, he said.
UCM which is an apex of different civil society organisations, Meira Paibies and others were formed to save the territorial integrity and boundary of Manipur after the ‘June 18’ incident, he said.
The apex voluntary organisation cautions that it is ready for a ‘blood sacrifice’ to save Manipur if any issue which could affect territorial integrity or boundary of Manipur arises.
