KNF active cadre arrested

Imphal: A combined team of Bishnupur district police commando and a column of 10 Assam Rifles have apprehended an active cadre of KNF (Nehlun) faction along with arms and ammunitions from Laimaton area, Senapati district on Saturday.

The arrested person was identified as one Johnny Kongshai, 23, son of Seilun Khongshai of Motbung village, Kangpokpi district.

He was apprehended when the team acted on a ‘reliable information’ about movement of some hilly based underground group in an around Laimaton area.

The combined team rushed to the area and conducted frisking and checking. During the operation Johnny was nabbed along with one 9 mm pistol, one magazine with 3 live rounds, a police report said.

The person was arrested and seized the arms and ammunition from his possession.

The arrested person along with the seizures have been handed over to Loktak police station for further necessary legal action, the report said.
