E-Malkhana at Churachandpur Police

Imphal: As part of using technology to improve police functioning, Churachandpur District Police on Tuesday inaugurated E- Malkhana (Digital Malkhana).

The E-Malkhana was inaugurated by DGP P Doungel in presence of ADG (INT) Ashutosh Kumar Sinha, ADG (AP/Mod/HR) Clay Khongsai, IGP Z 2, Dr I K Muivah, SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve and other police officials of the district.

This is a project to digitize the Malkhana exhibits which has been completed successfully at the police station.

Advantages of this system are — easy handling and management of seized properties and retrieval for production in court, easy transfer of cases from one IO to another by preventing misplacement, standalone software, which doesn’t require internet connection and so can be used in far flung police stations, easy handing and taking over charge of Malkhana for OCs, uses barcode technology to easily track exhibits, and generates reports for supervisory officers.
